Sapling planting activities carried out within the framework of the “55 thousand 773 students - 55 thousand 773 saplings” project in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources continue. In this context, secondary school students from Famagusta, Iskele and Karpaz region affiliated to the Ministry of National Education planted cypress trees in place of burning trees in Mersinlik. In his evaluation to General Secondary Education Department Director Cengiz Uzun about the event, he stated that saplings will be planted in Mersinlik forest area as much as the number of students. Expressing that they contribute to a green nature by planting new saplings instead of burning trees, Uzun emphasized the importance of the contribution such activities make to increase students' awareness of environmental awareness. . Nearly a thousand students who participated in the event contributed to a green nature by bringing cypress saplings together with soil.
