Iskele Municipality has illuminated the pedestrian crossings in front of the roundabout on the Iskele Main Road, based on the traffic accidents that have occurred in recent days, especially in which pedestrians lost their lives. The solar panels at the pedestrian crossings, whose assembly was completed by the Iskele Municipality Electric Unit, were activated and pedestrians were enabled to cross the street in a safer way. He warned and underlined that vehicle drivers should control their speed and be more respectful to pedestrians, especially in order for pedestrians to cross the street more safely. President Sadıkoğlu also announced that pedestrian crossings will be illuminated from the ground in the coming days and solar panels will be installed in the roundabouts. According to the written statement made by the Iskele Municipality, while the pedestrian crossings in front of the circle in the Iskele-Long Beach Region, where the pedestrian population is high, are illuminated with solar panels, 6 solar panels, 3 separate circles (Mujahideen) , Granel and Long Beach) were placed at the pedestrian crossings in front of them. The panels, the assembly of which was completed yesterday, came into operation in the evening hours, and the pedestrian crossings in question were made more prominent. -Sadıkoğlu: “Our aim is to raise awareness on the roads” Expressing that they are following with regret that there have been fatal traffic accidents due to lack of light throughout the island in recent days, Iskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu said that they could not remain indifferent to the painful events and that they implemented such a study. Stating that they, as the Pier Municipality, are in constant consultation with the Pier Police Department, Mayor Sadıkoğlu stated that they act together with the Pier Police Department on the installation of solar panels. Sadıkoğlu pointed out that the assembly of the panels in question at the pedestrian crossings in front of the circle between İskele Municipality Public Beach and Merit Cyprus Garden was completed by the İskele Municipality Electricity Unit, and the pedestrian crossings were made more prominent by activating the panels. Stating that this work has been carried out especially in areas with heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic and that it will continue to increase in the coming days, Sadıkoğlu stated that they will also illuminate the pedestrian crossings on the main road from the ground and install solar panels in the circles. Sadıkoğlu also stated that their aim is to raise awareness on the roads. He also warned vehicle drivers and underlined that vehicle drivers should control their speed and be more respectful to pedestrians, especially so that pedestrians can cross the street more safely. In the municipality's statement, the statement of Deputy Police Director Rüstem Tunçtaşlı was also included and it was stated that he thanked the Mayor of Iskele, Sadıkoğlu.
