A 68-year-old man reported to the police that he was scammed out of €520,000 after he proceeded with a fraudulent offer to purchase housing units in Limassol.
The man detailed that the transfer occurred in July but only recently made the complaint after he realised that the deal was a scam.
He explained that he received an email from a company offering a sale of housing units in a Limassol complex.
The man contacted the company soon after the payment but they informed him that the money was never received and neither are they linked to the UK bank account to which the transfer was made.
