GP services by district during the weekends of December 2022 and Public Holidays during the Christmas and New Year period (10-11/12/2022, 17-18/12 /2022, 24-26/12/2022 & 31/12/2022 – 01/01/2023) have been posted on Gesy’s website www.gesy.org.cy and on its official social media accounts.
The HIO said that the GP on-call services are provided to adults and children who are beneficiaries of Gesy on weekends and Public Holidays and concern the provision of health care for emergency health problems such as the acute onset of alarming symptoms, sudden and intense pain, exacerbation of symptoms of a serious chronic disease, high fever accompanied by other symptoms.
It also clarified that beneficiaries should not turn to GP on-call services for pre-existing medical conditions, issuance of repeated prescriptions, issuance of referrals to other Gesy services or in cases where they do not have time to visit their personal doctor.
Service opening hours for weekends and Public Holidays are Saturday: 9.00am – 5.00pm and Sunday and Public Holiday: 3.00pm – 7.00pm.
Gesy beneficiaries are advised to contact the GP emergency services of their district by telephone during the operating hours of the emergency services.
After assessing the health problem, an appointment is arranged during the day and during the opening hours of the on-call services.
It is emphasised that, in order to properly serve patients, the services operate only with scheduled appointments.
